Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve compiled a list of the most frequent questions that I have received during my years in practice. It’s normal and encouraged for clients to ask questions when choosing to work with a therapist. Here are some answers to the questions I receive the most. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.

How long does each therapy session take?

Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes, though 90-minute and 2-hour sessions are available upon request. This gives us time to conclude our business and for me to adequately prepare for the next session so that I can be fully focused on the needs of each client. If additional time is needed and I am available, I am happy to extend the session at an additional cost.

Do you charge more for different types of therapy?

No, the fee is the same per 50-minute session for all therapies - child, individual, couple, and family included. If the session runs long, additional charges by the quarter-hour will apply.

Do you charge for phone consultations?

I am happy to offer one free 15-minute phone consultation prior to scheduling your first appointment. This is not a therapy session, but it helps us get to know each other and helps me to prepare for our first session together.

Do you offer online therapy (teletherapy)?

Yes! In response to the pandemic in 2020, I expanded my practice to include online therapy for qualified clients. Some clients conduct therapy entirely online, some entirely in-person, some a combination of both. Contact me to learn if you qualify.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes! I determine your fee based on your average annual household income and the number of people living in your home. To qualify for the sliding scale, please bring two documents proving your level of income (pay stubs, tax documents, etc.) to either the first or second session. Due to their status as students, Charlette and Christina's services are available at a reduced rate.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I can accept health savings cards, as well as cash, check, and credit/debit cards. I am also happy to provide you with a form for you to file with your insurance for reimbursement! However, I do not accept insurance directly.
